The Best Books I Have Read and Recommend
Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Book Lovers is like a warm hug for me. I have read it through two times now and am planning to read it yearly when I am feeling like I am having a reading slump, or simply just for funsies. It truly holds a favorite romance trope of mine: enemies to lovers. Because it is a book about writers dogging on romance tropes, it is also kind of an ironic read. It is hands down one of the best romance books in my opinion. You absolutely have to add this to your list and explore the world that Emily Henry creates between main characters Nora Stephens and Charlie Lastra.
ACOTAR Books Series by Sarah J. Maas
A Court of Thorns and Roses Series is one of my favorite fantasy series out there. I know that might not be a popular opinion for some. Many have criticized Sarah J. Maas’ works very heavily, but if you are looking for some easy reads with a decent world building aspect, I think her books are definitely worth reading! In ACOTAR we follow the journey of Feyre, but things start to heat up along the way! I won’t spoil anything, and if I say much more it definitely will. You will just have to see what romance (or romances) I am talking about by reading them!
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
The Love Hypothesis totally caught me off guard. It had been on my to be read list for ages, and I had just gotten out of a reading slump. Being a Biology major, a lot of things really hit home in this book as far as the academic setting goes! But the student-teacher love trope? That also caught me! This read was impossible to put down for so many reasons. So for all you science nerds out there, or just those who like teacher-student tropes with a fake relationship, I can’t say enough good things about Ali Hazelwood’s writing.
The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan
The Christmas Sisters was a bit slower for me, but it follows the story of Beth, Posie & Hannah, all seemingly from different realms in life. But within the 3 sister group, they all discover exactly what they need, including Posie who may or may not fall into a whirlwind romance herself! This is the perfect book for the holiday season, or if you are like me, anytime of the year (I love Christmas lol).
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
What is there NOT to say about Lessons in Chemistry? The perfect chemistry does exist. Like Ali Hazelwood’s The Love Hypothesis, this book really hit home for me as a science person, as well as a woman and I would consider it an instant classic. Follow Elizabeth as she not only learns more about cooking, but about love, and the chemistry of it all, without the pain that real chemistry can bring to one’s life.
It Ends With Us & It Starts With Us: Books by Colleen Hoover
Although many (also) bash Colleen Hoover, I find her books really great to take breaks from bigger, more serious reads of mine. If I happen to be working on a fantasy series, I find it helpful to take breaks and read her romances; they never fail to make me feel some type of way. It Ends with Us and the sequel It Starts with Us is no exception. In fact, these two books both broke my heart and then rebuilt it piece by piece, with the perfect happy ending. TW for potential readers: Domestic Abuse is discussed in the books as well as neglect.
Beach Read by Emily Henry
Another Emily Henry classic, although not as good as Book Lovers in my opinion, but still good nonetheless! Beach Read is the same sort of trope of enemies to lovers, but instead of two people who work in the same industry, it is about two people who are both writers, trying to find there way to their next big book deal while simultaneously piecing each other back together. This is the perfect book for those who like enemies to lovers tropes, or who just love Emily Henry like I do!
A Magical New York Christmas by Anita Hughes
This is one of those romance books that got me right back into reading, as it was probably the first book I picked back up after having a horror genre kick. It is short and sweet and like many other reads on this list follows a writer, this one a ghost writer. Imagine living a life you only dreamed of, even if only for a short period of time. Plus, it’s the holidays and you are in one of the best cities in the country: New York City! A great read to get your mind in the holiday spirit as well as your heart squeezed a little by this mysterious romance.
A lot of these books I have shared reading with a previous best friend. They remind me of what true love can be, and some made me even feel like a teenage girl but in the best way. All I would say fall within the “young adult” genre, or at least close to it. Some are very applicable to real life, and others I would just consider a good love story. I hope that you’ll find your next read with the above list and maybe even with some of my to be read memorable romances below!

Coming Soon to Hyatt Sci Art- Book Review(s)
I have been thinking a lot about it, and because I love reading so much, I want to share that love with everyone else! When I first started really digging into the world of books in 2020, I would have never imagined I would actually be able to keep it up. My anxiety has been pretty bad for so long that I never got to indulge in reading because I would get about a sentence in and no matter how well written the story, I would end up falling asleep. Every. Single. Time. I know typical people don’t do that, but my brain isn’t typical and neither am I ! So with that, I want to continue to share some of my favorite books, and maybe some of my not so favorites with you, giving you the inside scoop about them without the pretentiousness that can come with reading reviews online.
Fall is always a great time to find a good reason to read, so let me know what you decide to choose! Also, look out for new releases and other favorite books of mine coming up during the beginning of this school year!
